Hello to all-
The posts on here have been a bit slack lately. But here we go with a new post and a promise to keep up with the logs on here as well.
LEEP has been moving in great positive stides. I have been extremely busy with many projects.
I have become involved with Noisette and the Sustainable Institute. I have had a lot of meetings with both organizations. They both have given much time to LEEP. Together with Noisette and Sustainable Institute LEEP will soon be moving at a better pace. Both organizations have offered to assist with the In-class Lesson entitled “Impacts and Sustainable Solutions”.
I have also been teaching many classes. We have had positive results with CDA. Caren Putzu (teacher) at CIS schools has been out to the Bull Island tour and is bringing another class this week.
On April 9th we had an Oyster Roast fundraiser. All went well and we had a great turnout.
We have a new brochure. Thanks to Terry and pb printing. The brochure looks good.
We had the first Volunteer Appreciation dad on May 13th. We had 10 show up. A lot of good networking and all the volunteers had a good time. There is another Volunteer appreciation to be held on June 10th. Diana and Jennifer put the fliers together for the businesses.
I have been in contact with Environmental Media to begin discussion to make a video of the Kayak trip this fall. I have emailed Mr. Pendergraft several times.
We are looking for a bio-bus for LEEP. The process has begun and we need this bus soon.
RipTide has finished the PR Package for LEEP. I went to the presentation. My thanks to RipTide for a job very well done. They worked hard on this.
The website is in progress. We have some work to do on this but it is coming along.
I have spoken with Southeastern bio to assist with bio-diesel and possibly the bio-bus.
Randy Horton gave David May my name to discuss how to build our own bio containers and reactors.
On May 19th Noisette had a Creek Day. I spoke with NOAA to hopefully discuss working together. I also spoke to Academic Magnet School. Jim Augustin and I spoke about LEEP getting assistant with the bio-bus, the kayak expedition and the class of Sustainable Solutions.
LEEP has new 800 number. The number is 1-800-9625. You can call this number at any time. Someone will call back if you need to leave a message.
I have been discussing class sponsorships with Diana. We have been assigning classes to appropriate businesses
Coastal Expedition has given LEEP the use of their Kayaks to assist in fund raising. We have offered several businesses kayak trips at a discounted price to assist in fund raising.
LEEP is having a Golf Charity Tournament in Sept. Mike Bristow is preparing the info for this tournament. If you know of anyone who wishes to participate or donate please let us know.
Well that is it for now. I promise to keep this updated on a regular basis.
Thanks to all for your assistance
Ian Sanchez
