I have been kayaking to work on a daily basis. I have been dodging ships as I go in. The pictures on here show what I see!!

On May 25th I took a group from James Island Middle School out to Bulls Island. Our new photographer Julie went along to assist. We took the small boat to the Island. The group of children saw many animals such as a 6-7 foot alligator. A pebble was thrown in the water and the gator dove in the water after it. I discussed with the children how the senses of an alligator work. The topic for the day was Abotic and biotic. The children talked about the topic all through the day. We saw dolphins of which most of the kids have never seen. We found live sand dollars and small ones that were no longer living. The kids brought back a bag of them. We also saw a dead white tail deer while we were out. We discussed fire and we discussed the esturary. Some of the children had never been to the beach and loved playing in the sand and in the water. We had a great day at Bulls Island as you will see in the pictures.

I want to thank the teachers at James Island Middle School for their support. Sandy Nichols would like to continue with these classes in the fall!!
