Hello to all

I wanted to let everyone know what was going on recently with LEEP. First off, we are going to try and update the blog every other day. So please keep coming back to see what is going on.

I have been busy writing up proposals for the bus, working on the upcoming Newsletter, sending out info for the upcoming golf tournament, searching for volunteers, researching grants, updating our board members, adding new contacts to our data base, sending info to community partners and trying to keep up with Ian.

Ian has been working hard with trying to get the new web site going for LEEP. We need to have our web site look good for everyone!!

He has also been working with Justin Nathanson from ChasDocs. and tracking the upcoming kayak expedition. Justin and Ian have been working hard to get the filming ready for the trip. Justin is a local environmental film maker who is working along with LEEP to create the upcoming documentary “Water is Life”.

Ian has also been in contact with many partners of LEEP working on a daily basis to keep the communication open. They are getting ready for Bowenstock as well. This is the 7th annual Bowenstock for LEEP. From what I understand this year hopes to bring out a lot of new people.

Ian has also been working on the bio-bus searching for potential sponsors and trying to get the bus ready for transporting. He is holding Alternative Energy Forums every third Wed of the month at Earthfare in W. Ashley. The next meeting is scheduled for Aug. 16th at 7pm in the community room. These meetings are being held to inform the community about Alternative Energy. With the increasing rise of fuel hitting us, these meetings will provide support and answer questions on different ways of providing fuel for everyone and the environment.

Ian has also been working on the curriculum for the classes in the Wetlands Water Cycle for the students. We are trying to get the classes written out for upcoming press releases and a new LEEP fact sheet so more community members will understand LEEP.

Ian and the board continue to work on fund raisers for LEEP. The upcoming LEEP rummage sale will be held on Aug. 5th at the LEEP office located at 445 Folly Rd. from 8am to 12pm.
