Web of Water trip kicks off at Table Rock
Under some rainy skies we got the WoW trip underway today. I was able to hit the lake with an enthusiastic class of middle schoolers from Pickens to do some water tests. In addition to testing ph and turbidity of the water in the lake, the class has been working on the restoration of an old CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) work camp. The CCC was a New Deal program designed by president Roosevelt during the depression of the 1920’s. The rain got in the way of capturing the class working on their project, but we will come back in late March to film the class and Granny Snow, who is in her 90’s and was married to a CCC volunteer. She loves to tell stories from those days. So stay tuned…

History at Table Rock State Park
Table Rock Mountain provides an impressive backdrop for an upcountry retreat. The most challenging hiking trails in the state park system, a Nature Center, and year-round programs are among the many attractions awaiting each park visitor. The restaurant offers diners a panoramic view of nearby Table Rock and Pinnacle mountains. Built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps.
